While we wait for the official launch of the
Aprilia SXR160
in the Nepalese market to take place, here are five interesting details about the maxi scooter from Aprilia India which is priced at INR 1.26 Lakh (ex-showroom).
The maxi-scooter gets Aprilia signature graphics paired with Matt Black design trims inserts along with dark chrome elements, twin crystal LED headlights with DRLs, LED tail lights with integrated rear blinkers, honeycomb grilles, air dams, and chrome garnished exhaust. It also sports sharp body lines, geometric contours, sporty bumpers, and 5 spoked metallic grey alloy wheels. It will be available in four colours - White, Red, Black and Blue.
Comfort and convenience features include an integrated dark fly screen, raised steering handlebar, bigger, longer, and ergonomic bucket seats, front lockable split glove boxes with a USB charging point, and 7 liters fuel tank. In terms of suspension, the Aprilia SXR 160 gets dual telescopic front suspension and adjustable rear suspension.
The SXR160 is powered by a 160 cc single-cylinder fuel-injected BS6 engine from the Aprilia SR 160 scooter. The Aprilia SXR 160's motor will deliver a maximum power of 11 bhp at 7,600 rpm along with a peak torque of 12 Nm at 6000 rpm.
The maxi-scooter gets a large 210cm sq. multifunctional all-digital cluster with a host of features including RPM meter, mileage indication, average speed display, top speed display, numerical speed display, digital fuel indication, 2 trip meters, odometer and time display, engine oil temperature indication, external temperature, ABS indicator, instant mileage, engine malfunction indication, average speed, and battery voltage.
Braking duties are handled by a ventilated disc brake with ABS and a drum brake. The scooter rides on 12” wide pattern tubeless tyres.
